Speeding Driver Flips Container; Has NO IDEA What's Inside! It seems cops are cracking down more and more lately on drivers that don't have weight tickets or can't answer what is inside their containers. I think this is great, since 95% of all rollovers in my videos are always guess work on what is inside. You would assume every driver pulling a trailer or container would have some paperwork on what is inside, but that is sadly not the case.
This video shows a good example of why that is bad. First, it helps us recovery professionals. Knowing how much weight assists us in knowing what rigging to use and what game plan to get the container over. Second, it's just the law. When the cop was speaking to the boss, she told him "I can email it". Which shows that they do have easy access to it, it's just something rarely given to the drivers.
As for the job, it was a pretty simple upright with some small setbacks. First setback was my dad's rotator was used instead of Flipper, since Alex was out on a big job. Alex and I have a different and newer platform compared to my dad's 2006 Rotator body. You'll notice his front outrigger is like a leg that extends out, which makes bringing things to you a lot more difficult. Rudy also is pretty good but not experienced in these maneuvers like I am, so I was monitoring him in the back to make sure it doesn't hit the truck.
The driver also had a custom grill that was difficult to remove, so I opted to use an auxiliary line to help bring the tractor over while my dad's truck was used to catch it, making for one smooth and technical rollover. The cleanup was handled swiftly and everything was prepped to tow back to the customers yard.
People always ask where has my dad been, but the truth is he should be the LAST to go out. When you see him on a job, it's because we are slammed and he's there to get the job handled.
