The Cake Cottage owner Tsian Verley is our St. Cloud FL Business Spotlight in March 2023. Jeanine Corcoran, broker for Corcoran Connect interviews Tsian Verley on location at The Cake Cottage.
Jeanine started by sharing that she had a chance to test several of the goodies offered by Tsian and The Cake Cottage and they were delicious. She then asked Tsian how long she had been in business. Tsian replied that she opened in September of 2022, so they have been in business for 6 months now.
Jeanine then asked Tsian how she got started in this business and why did she choose it. She answered that this has been her life’s dream. Tsian said her bake shop is everything she has wanted to do since she was a child. She said it was heavily inspired by her dad who had a passion for the kitchen.
Tsian shared that she went to Johnson and Wales University and has a culinary degree. She continued that this had been her dream since childhood that had come to fruition.
Jeanie then asked her to tell people who she is outside of The Cake Cottage. Tsian started by sharing that she was born and raised in Trinidad which is part of the Caribbean. She came to the US for culinary school and has lived here ever since. Tsian said that she has 3 brothers who are also a part of the family business. She is married and a mom. Tsian has a 2-year-old son who is her entire world.
Jeanine asked Tsian what her best-selling item was. She replied that they have so many top sellers that sell evenly that it is hard to pick out just one item. She stated that she is proud to be able to serve the dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan communities. Tsian is very proud of this as she herself is dairy and gluten-free as she suffers from autoimmune challenges.
