Flackers recipe on how to make flackers or making flax seed crackers. It all starts with dehydration. A food dehydrator is a raw foodist's oven. It is important to note that you want to get a dehydrator with even distribution to avoid hot pockets. Therefore, we don’t recommend round food dehydrators.

We are going to walk you through a flackers recipe showing how to make flackers. Flax seeds are great for a healthy source of omega 3 fatty acids. They are a great medium to put in any kind of dip.

We are going to use golden flaxseed in this recipe as it has a nuttier flavor. Flax seeds are super gelatinous and because of that, they make a nice gel. If you are having digestive issues, soak your flax seeds in water overnight and then drink the flax water. It coats the digestive system and helps to alleviate problems there.

To make one sheet of flackers we will do one and a half cups of water and one and a half cups of flaxseeds. Put the flaxseeds in the water and let it sit for a few hours. We like to let it sit overnight; the choice is yours. What you end with is a cake batter-like substance.

We take that cake-like batter and spread it onto the dehydrator sheet. Pour all the flax batter onto the sheet. We use a cake spatula to spread the flax gel on the sheet. It just makes it easy. You can make the flack seed crackers as thin or as thick as you want.

We do not buy flaxseed pre-ground and the reason we don’t is that it is rancid. Flax oil is a very unstable oil. It is an excellent oil and very good for you, but it is unstable. Hence, we do not buy ground flax meal.

Spread the flax batter over the entire sheet covering all corners. Once spread, you can either score the flackers or leave them as is to put into the dehydrator. Again, the choice is yours. This is where you can get creative before putting the flackers into the dehydrator with seasonings.

You can add salt and pepper, the sky’s the limit. You can add sundried tomatoes, rosemary, basil, and oregano for Italian flackers. You could add dill, pepper, and lemon for another tasty option.

When you put them into the dehydrator and set to 105 for temperature and leave them overnight. You will not burn anything when dehydrating at 110 degrees or less.
