BEEF CALDERETA | Saucy BEEF CALDERETA | Kalderetang Baka | Pinoy Simple Cooking

Beef Caldereta is one of the popular Filipino dish served mostly on holidays or special occasion. Any meat can be used for caldereta with variety of vegetables combined with tomato sauce and oyster sauce infused with great flavor of liver pate. Here is a simple and easy way to cook Beef Caldereta. Your family will definitely love this simple yet delicious recipe. Easy recipe to satisfy your cravings! Happy Pinoy Simple Cooking!

Here is how to cook BEEF CALDERETA /KALDERETANG BAKA :
BEEF CALDERETA RECIPE :
Ingredients:
2 lbs beef, cut into chunks
2 medium potatoes, cubed
2 medium carrots, cubed
2 bell peppers, cubed
1 large onion, chopped
7 cloves garlic, minced
3 dried bay leaves
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 cup tomato sauce
3 tbsp liver pate
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp chopped parsley
4 tbsp olive oil (or any cooking oil)
3 cups beef broth or water
1 tsp saly, divided
1 tsp pepper, divided

DIRECTIONS:
1. In a large pan, heat oil over medium high heat. Sear potatoes and carrots until edges are lightly browned. Remove from the pan. Set aside.
2. In the same pan, sear bell pepper for 30 seconds. Remove from the pan then set aside.
3. In the same pan, add onion. Cook until translucent.
4. Add garlic, cook until lightly browned.
5. Add beef chunks, salt and pepper, sear both sides until lightly browned.
6. Add soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir until all meat is covered with sauce.
7. Add beef broth or water and bay leaves. Bring to boil. Skim off the scum.
8. Add tomato sauce and brown sugar. Stir until well combined. Let it simmer over medium heat for 50-60 mins or until beef is fork tender. Stir occasionally.
9. Add the liver pate. Stir until well combined.
10. Add back the potatoes, carrots and bell pepper. Cover with and let it simmer for 5 mins or until vegetables are tender. Remove the bay leaves.
11. Add the green peas, salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.
12. COntinue to simmer uncovered until it reaches your preferred consistency.
13. Serve and Enjoy! Best served with steamed rice or salad.
