When my daughter asks for a Birthday Cake for her friend that she needs immediately, I bake a Birthday Cake in 4 minutes! Yes, this Birthday cake is baked in 4 minutes because I baked it in a Microwave. But what is the difference between a microwave cake and an oven baked cake? I have shared the differences, advantages, disadvantages, all with you.
This birthday Cake is pretty in pink with butterflies dancing over it. So not only is a birthday Cake baked in 4 minutes, but it is also finished to look pretty!

Recipe :
Birthday Cake
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 4 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 tsp vinegar
1 cup powdered sugar
¼ cup oil
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs (replace with ¼ cup yoghurt)
1 ¼ cup flour
1 ¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
1 pinch salt
For decoration:
300 ml whipping cream
Pink food colour
4 tbsp strawberry crush
Method:
Preheat the oven at 180C for 10 minutes (if baking in an oven).
Grease the moulds and line the bottom with a baking paper.
In a large bowl, mix the vinegar with the milk and allow to stand for 5 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and mix till the sugar is dissolved. Now add the oil, vanilla essence, eggs and blend well.
Sieve the flour, baking powder, baking soda, pinch of salt over the wet ingredients and mix to make a lump free batter.
Pour the batter in a greased mould.
For Microwave: Microwave on high mode for 4 minutes
For Oven: Bake in a preheated oven at a temperature of 180C for 35 minutes
Remove the cake from the oven, allow to cool in the mould for 10 minutes and then, demould the cake. Allow the cake to rest for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile whip the cream with 2 drops of pink colour.
Cut the cake into 2 neat slices.
Place the cake slice on the cake board. Soak the 1st slice with 4 tbsp sugar solution. Cover with 1” thick layer of cream. Spread the strawberry crush over it.
Place the 2nd layer of cake. Soak the 2nd slice with 4 tbsp sugar solution. Cover the entire cake with pink frosting. Decorate as desired.
